The gastronomy of Termini is similar to that of the other centres

of the Palermo province. However, it has its peculiarities owing to

the regional variations introduced into every recipe.

One of the most typical dishes is "lasagne cacate", oven-baked

pasta with ricotta cheese, sausage, and usually served during carnival

time.

Fantasy seems to be a special quality of the inhabitants of

Termini: one of the most well-known ice-cream man of the area is

famous not only for the delicious taste of his ice-cream, but also for

the shape he gives it; such as pasta with tomato sauce or steak.

Fantasy and skill are also a characteristic of local artisans. In

shops one can buy beautiful works in tufa stone, glass engravings,

wickerworks and objects in wrought iron. Artistic ironworks often copy

ancient models. As a matter of fact, one can find charming iron

rocking cradles with highly ornate bases.

And finally, if you are looking for true Sicilian folklore, have a

walk along via Bagni better known as via Verduva: here there is a

food and clothes market opened every day.
